Air quality and Environmental management

The aim of air quality and environmental management is to protect public health and the environment by controlling air pollution. This includes monitoring air quality, identifying sources of pollution, and implementing measures to reduce emissions. The scope of air quality and environmental management includes both indoor and outdoor air quality, as well as the management of other environmental factors that impact air quality, such as land use and transportation. Effective air quality and environmental management requires collaboration between government, industry, and the public to create sustainable solutions that benefit all.

Solid waste treatment

Solid waste treatment refers to the process of managing and disposing of solid waste materials in an environmentally friendly manner. It includes the collection, transportation, processing, and disposal of waste materials. Proper solid waste treatment helps to reduce the negative impact of waste on the environment and public health. Some common methods of solid waste treatment include landfilling, composting, and incineration. Effective solid waste management requires the collaboration of government, industry, and the public to create sustainable solutions.

Pharmaceutical pollution

Pharmaceutical pollution refers to the contamination of the environment by pharmaceutical drugs and their metabolites. This can occur through the improper disposal of unused or expired medications, as well as through excretion by humans and animals. Pharmaceutical pollution is a growing concern, as these substances can have adverse effects on both human and environmental health. Effective management of pharmaceutical pollution requires proper disposal methods, as well as efforts to reduce unnecessary medication use and promote sustainable production practices in the pharmaceutical industry.

Industrial Air Pollution

Air pollution is the permeation of particulates, biological molecules, or other harmful gases into Earths atmosphere, causing disease, damage to other living organisms. Air pollution may come from reliable industries or natural sources. The atmosphere is a complex natural gaseous system that is essential to support life on planet Earth. Stratospheric ozone depletion due to air pollution has been recognized as a threat to human health as well as to the earth’s ecosystems.

Pollution facts

Pollution is the process of making land, water, air or other parts of the environment dirty and unsafe or unsuitable to use. Air pollutants come in the form of gases or particles. Dirty water is the world's biggest health risk, and continues to threaten both quality of life and public healt

Wastewater treatment processes

Wastewater treatment is closely related to the standards or expectations set for the effluent quality. Wastewater treatment processes are designed to achieve improvements in the quality of the wastewater. wastewater treatment has three major steps: primary, secondary, and tertiary. Primary treatment involve mechanical process of cleaning, Secondary treatment involves biological process to clean the distributed solids. Tertiary treatment can remove more than 99 percent of all the impurities from sewage, producing an effluent of almost drinking-water quality.

Noise Pollution

Noise pollution include aircraft noise, noise of cars, buses, and trucks, vehicle horns, loudspeakers, and industry noise, as well as high-intensity sonar effects which are extremely harmful for the environment. Maximum noise pollution occurs due to one of modern science’s best discoveries- the motor vehicle, which is responsible for about ninety percent of all unwanted noise worldwide

Water Pollution

Water pollution caused industrial waste products released into lakes, rivers, and other water bodies, has made marine life no longer hospitable. Humans pollute water with large scale disposal of garbage, flowers, ashes and other household waste. Water pollution can also indirectly occur as an offshoot of soil pollution – through surface runoff and leaching to groundwater

Air Pollution

Air pollution is cause by the injurious smoke emitted by cars, buses, trucks, trains, and factories, namely sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides. Even smoke from burning leaves and cigarettes are harmful to the environment causing a lot of damage to man and the atmosphere. Evidence of increasing air pollution is seen in lung cancer, asthma, allergies, and various breathing problems along with severe and irreparable damage to flora and fauna.

Soil pollution

Soil pollution, which can also be called soil contamination, is a result of acid rain, polluted water, fertilizers etc., which leads to bad crops. Soil contamination occurs when chemicals are released by spill or underground storage tank leakage which releases heavy contaminants into the soil. These may include hydrocarbons, heavy metals, MTBE, herbicides, pesticides and chlorinated hydrocarbons

Global Warming

Global Warming is the increase of Earth's average surface temperature due to effect of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels or from deforestation, which trap heat that would otherwise escape from Earth. The most significant greenhouse gas is actually water vapor. However, even slight increases in atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide can cause a substantial increase in temperature.

Environmental protection

Environmental protection is a practice of protecting the natural environment on individual, organizational or governmental levels, for the benefit of both the natural environment and humans. Due to the pressures of excessive population and eminent technology, the biophysical environment is being degraded. For environmental protection to become a reality, it is important for societies to develop each of these areas that, together, will inform and drive environmental decisions

Recycling of Waste water

Reclaimed water or recycled water, is former wastewater that is treated to remove solids and impurities, and used in sustainable landscaping irrigation, to recharge groundwater aquifers, to meet commercial and industrial water needs, and for drinking. The purpose of these processes is sustainability and water conservation, rather than discharging the treated water to surface waters such as rivers and oceans.

Occupational safety and health

Occupational safety and health is an area concerned with the safety, health and welfare of people engaged in work. The goals of occupational safety and health programs include to promote a safe and healthy work environment. Climatic Change

Climatic change is a change in the statistical dispersion of weather patterns when that change lasts for an extended period of time. It is caused by factors such as biotic processes, variations in solar radiation received by Earth, plate tectonics, and volcanic eruptions. Climate change may refer to a change in average weather conditions, or in the time variation of weather around longer-term average condition.

Environmental Legislation

Environmental law regimes address environmental pollution. A related but distinct set of regulatory regimes, it is strongly influenced by environmental legal principles, focus on the management of specific natural resources, such as forests, minerals, or fisheries. Other areas, such as environmental impact assessment, may not fit neatly into either category, but are nonetheless important components of environmental law

Thermal pollution

Thermal pollution is the increase or decrease in the temperature of a natural body of water caused by human actions. A common cause of thermal pollution is the use of water as a coolant by power plants and industrial producers. Increased water temperatures decrease oxygen levels, which can kill fish and alter food chain composition, reduce species biodiversity, and foster invasion by new thermophilic species.

Plastic Pollution

Plastic pollution involves the accumulation of plastic products in the environment that adversely affects wildlife, wildlife habitat, or humans.Plastic pollution will unfavorably affect lands, waterways and oceans. Living organisms, particularly marine animals, direct ingestion of plastic waste, or through exposure to chemicals within plastics that cause pollution in biological activities
