PHYSICO-CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF GLASS INDUSTRIES WASTE WATER IN FIROZABAD DISTRICT (U.P), INDIA

Abstract

The present study deals with an analysis of physico-chemical characteristics of waste water effluent from glass industries in Firozabad district U.P. Water samples were collected from nine different sites in Firozabad district during the study period and analyzed for temperature, pH, TDS, electrical conductivity, alkalinity, acidity, total hardness, BOD, COD, Na+, K+, Cl-, F-, nitrate, phosphate, sulphate, and heavy metals. The results were compared by WHO and ICMR standards showed that some parameters have higher value while few were negligible.
